The Southeast Michigan McDonald's Operators Association (SEMMOA) is comprised of private McDonald's restaurant owners. Many of the owners grew up in southeast Michigan, and chose to locate their businesses in the communities in which they were raised and/or currently reside. SEMMOA members are also very active in their community and dedicated leaders for the Ronald McDonald Houses.

The underlying passion that SEMMOA holds to support the Southeast Michigan Ronald McDonald Houses stems from their philosophy that local communities should sustain their own institutions so that they can contribute to the well being of community members. SEMMOA has committed to hosting the Ronald McDonald House Gala, which is now in its seventh year, in an effort to raise funds to support the southeast Michigan Ronald McDonald Houses. To date, the annual Gala has raised almost one million dollars to directly benefit the families that stay at our local houses.

In southeast Michigan, we are proud to have two Ronald McDonald Houses just steps away from the Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor at University of Michigan and Children's Hospital of Michigan at Detroit Medical Center. When children are sick and parents need to be close, our Houses combined provide accommodations for up to 54 families every night. Later this year, Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor will open a new addition specifically dedicated to the Ronald McDonald House by adding 12 new rooms to serve our community increasing our total accommodations to 66 per night.
